Designed by New York’s James Corner Field Operations (designers of New York’s iconic High Line), The Underline will transform the underutilized land beneath Miami’s metro rail into a 10-mile linear park and urban trail.
In Miami, the metro rail is above ground. The bold line above the word Underline is a cheeky play on words, as it reinforces the physical reality of the park beneath the rail line. The use of underlining throughout the identity serves as a way to highlight words and graphic elements, from print to park signage.
The icon serves as an acronym, hiding a “T” for “The Underline” in the negative space around the “U”, and also mimics the view one sees when traveling on the path.
