Hamish Smyth

Hamish Smyth is the co-founder of Standards and partner at Order.

Prior to co-founding Order, Hamish worked as an associate partner the New York office of Pentagram Design under partner Michael Bierut.

During his time at Pentagram, his work was recognized by AIGA, D&AD, The ADC, TDC, Fast Company, Comm Arts, Creative Review, Design Week, and the SEGD, among others.

In 2014 he co-founded Standards Manual, an independent publishing imprint focusing on the preservation of graphic design history.

Standards Manual’s first title was a reissue of the 1970 New York City Transit Authority Graphics Standards Manual, followed by a reissue of the 1975 NASA Graphics Standards Manual. Since then, the imprint has released a book every year, which you can view here.
